TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team had seven players graduate and find their next home for the upcoming school year.
Josh Trentadue (Virginia Commonwealth University), Stone Cushing (BYU), Candon Dahle (BYU), Greyson Shafer (BYU), Jordan Rowley (Oregon Tech), Jacob Lewis (College of Idaho) and Seth McGrath (UNLV) will all be moving on.
Trentadue, who was named the Region 18 Pitcher of the Year as well as an NJCAA second-team honoree, finished the spring season with an 8-3 record on the mount and a 2.04 ERA. He finished the year with 118 strikeouts and held opponents to a .218 batting average. He ranked first in the country in strikeouts per nine inning game with 16.01.
Cushing and Dahle were both key pitchers for the Golden Eagles. Cushing had 13 appearances and a 6-3 overall record with a 4.70 ERA. He posted 77 strikeouts. Dahle was very similar, In his 13 appearances, he had a 3-3 record and a 5.12 ERA with 76 strikeouts.
Shafer is the third CSI player going to BYU but is not a pitcher. The sophomore third baseman hit .269 at the plate with 10 home runs and an on base percentage of .389. He was a Region 18 first-team selection.
The final three moving on were also pitchers. Rowley pitched in eight games with a 1.35 ERA and 20 strikeouts; Lewis had four appearances with a 10.38 ERA and five strikeouts and McGrath pitched in 11 games with a 7.82 ERA and 15 strikeouts.
These seven players helped the Golden Eagles to a 32-19 overall record.
