TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team took the crucial game one win of the Region 18 Tournament Semifinal Series Thursday, beating Colorado Northwestern 18-6.
In a best 2-of-3 series, the Golden Eagles trailed 4-0 early but then their offense took off.
Keying the run production was
Trey Purser, who hit two home runs in the game with five RBI. He has now hit 20 on the season.
Cooper Thompson also hit a two-run home run.
Coming in with four RBI was Stetson Critichley, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Stockton Fowlks was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI and
Crew Secrist was 2-for-3 with a double.
Mack Evans finished the game 3-for-3 with a double.
Grayson Riding earned the win, pitching the first four innings and giving up five earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
Jackson Gardner was dominant in relief, pitching two innings and giving up no runs on one hit with three strikeouts.
CSI will look to close out the series Friday at 4 p.m. and advance to the Region 18 Championship Series next week. If the Spartans win on Friday, it would force a game three, winner take all Saturday at noon.
