TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The top-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Program was well represented on the All-Region 18 list. The Golden Eagles boasted the Coach of the Year Jeff Reinert, Player of the Year Rob Whaley, two first team selections, a second-team selection and an honorable mention honoree.
Isaiah Moses and
Nate Meithof were named to the first team, Golden Eagle
Hasan Abdul-Hakim received second-team honors and
Joel Armotrading earned honorable mention.
Reinert led the Golden Eagles to only the second undefeated regular season ever in the history of CSI Basketball as well as ending the regular season with the number-one NJCAA ranking in the country.
Whaley averaged 14.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Golden Eagles.
Moses averaged 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while Meithof averaged 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Both Moses and Meithof were also impressive from the free-throw line with Moses shooting 91 percent and Meithof at 85 percent.
Abdul-Hakim finished the regular season averaging 11 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game.Â
Rounding out the CSI selections is Armotrading. The big man averaged 6.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. He also shot a team-high 64 percent from the field.
