TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Program has added standout guard Diego Mulford from American Fork High School (Utah) to the Golden Eagle roster for the upcoming season.
Mulford joins the Golden Eagles after one of the top shooting careers in Utah high school basketball history. He finished ranked among the state's Top 10 all-time in career 3-pointers made while shooting an outstanding 51 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the free-throw line. Before arriving at CSI, he served a mission in Billings, Mont.
"Diego is one of the best pure shooters we've recruited," said CSI Head Coach
Jeff Reinert. "He has tremendous basketball IQ, outstanding character, and an exceptional work ethic. We're excited to welcome him to the CSI family."
Mulford earned First Team All-Region 2 honors twice, was a two-time Region 2 Offensive Player of the Year, and helped lead Cyprus High School to back-to-back Region 2 Championships and a 6A State Semifinal appearance. He also helped American Fork High School earn a share of a Region 3 championship. As a sophomore, he set the career 3-point record at Cyprus High School.
Mulford also excels in the classroom, where he graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
"We're adding a player who knows how to compete and win," Reinert said. "His leadership and elite shooting ability will make him a great addition to our program."
