Box Score 2 FT. MYERS, Fla. - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball won its opening game of the Paradise Cove Tournament over Spoon River 7-3 before falling to host and seventh-ranked Florida Southwestern 8-1.
Alyce Archuleta was a highlight for the Golden Eagles in both games. The freshman went 1-for-2 in game one with a home run and three RBI and 1-3 in game two with a double and one RBI.
Banning also had a solid day, posting a triple in game one and was 1-for-1 in game two with a walk.
Both
Adi Hansen and
Rilyne Keck were 2-for-4 against Spoon River and
Lexi Crowley was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI.
Emerson Fuller earned the game one win, going all seven innings and giving up just two earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.
In the circle for game two,
Eva Stoddard took the loss, going 4.1 innings and giving up six runs with three strikeouts.
Marissa Mauger finished out the game, going 1.2 innings and giving up one earned run with two strikeouts.
CSI will take on Florida Southwestern against Friday morning along with Miami-Dade.
