TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho Volleyball's
Hazuna Akishige anchored the Golden Eagle defense all season, leading the Scenic West Athletic Conference in digs per set and earning NJCAA All American second-team honors.
The sophomore libero averaged 4.29 digs per set on the season and passed a .932 on service reception. She also helped the Golden Eagles score points, averaging 1.06 assists per game and .39 service aces per game.
Akishige was named Scenic West Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week three times and was named to the Battle at the Beach all-tournament team and the Crystal "Inn"vitational Libero of the Tournament. She also was named Region 18 Libero of the Year for the second straight year and earned Region 18 First-Team honors.
The Golden Eagles finished the season with an 18-9 overall record and took second in the conference regular season.
