TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team was well represented on the Region 18 first and second teams for the 2025 season.
For the second straight year,
Hazuna Akishige was named Region 18 Libero of the Year. The sophomore defender averaged 4.29 digs per set on the season, leading the Scenic West Athletic Conference. She also passed a .932 on service reception. Offensively, Akishige averaged 1.06 assists per game and .39 service aces per game.Â
She was named SWAC player of the week three times in helping the Golden Eagles to a runner-up finish in the regular season.
Joining Akishige on the first team is
Mina Benucci. The sophomore middle blocker ranked second in the conference in hitting percentage at .348. She averaged 2.34 kills per set and 1.0 blocks per set.
The Golden Eagles had
Vivian Goto and
Isabel Smart selected to the second team.
Goto, a freshman outside hitter, averaged 2.70 kills and 2.47 digs per game for CSI. She was a six rotation player for the Golden Eagles.
The starting right side hitter for CSI, Smart averaged 2.48 kills and .70 blocks per set for the Golden Eagles, while hitting .216.
CSI finished the regular season with an 18-9 overall record and a 7-3 conference record.Â
