Box Score 2 YUMA, Ariz. - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team run ruled Central Arizona 8-0 before falling to Eastern Arizona 7-3 Friday in the Arizona Western Shootout.
Emerson Fuller pitched a gem in the win, giving up no runs on four hits with five strikeouts. The freshman also did not have any walks.
She had good offensive support on the other side of the ball.
Courtney Christiansen was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Alyce Archuleta had a bases-clearing double to break open the game.
Lily Heitz was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and
Brielle Milius was 2-for-3. Both
Abbie Banning and
Adi Hansen were each 1-for-1 with two walks.
In game two, the Golden Eagles out-hit Eastern but couldn't get the runs across.
Marissa Mauger and
Eva Stoddard combined to give up four earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts.Â
At the plate,
Kelsie Jensen was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Kylie Carrell and Archuleta were each 1-for-1. Both
Anslie Yazzie and Hansen were 1-for-3.
CSI finishes up the tournament Saturday at 8:30 a.m. against Southern Nevada.
