Box Score 2 HENDERSON, Nev. - The eighth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team came away with two losses on opening day, falling to Eastern Arizona 7-4 and 15th-ranked Pima 12-9.
In the first game,
Alyce Archuleta was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
Abbie Banning was 2-for-2,
Caroline Simpson was 1-for-1 and
Courtney Christiansen was 1-for-3 but it wasn't enough as they hit the ball early and took advantage of some walks and hit by pitches.
Ella Farrell pitched the final 2.1 innings and was dominating, giving up no runs on one hit with four strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles started slow in game two as well, falling behind 6-0 before an eight-run inning gave them the lead in the fourth inning. It didn't last long as Pima added three in the fifth and then held on for the win.
Archuleta was 1-for-2 with one RBI, Christiansen finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI and
Ava Howell was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
CSI takes on Spoon River and Northeastern on Saturday.
