Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WACO, Texas - The 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team bounced back from a 5-2 loss to Tyler Friday to beat second-ranked McLennan 4-2 in extra innings.
The Golden Eagles had several players step up in big spots in the win over McLennan.
Early in the game, Kenzee Hale hit a home run to put CSI on the board and up 1-0. But McLennan tied it in the bottom of the third. Gracie Tentinger put CSI back up 2-1 in the top of the fourth on an RBI single. 
McLennan countered in the bottom of the 7th with a run to send the game to extra innings.
Markessa Jensen pitched a gem, giving up just two runs on three hits but worked into a jam in the seventh, putting two of the first three hitters on via a walk and hit by pitch. With two down, McLennan got a single to tie the game. Abby Hayes entered the game at pitcher and issued a walk before enducing an out to center field. 
Playing with the international tiebreak, Hale was placed on second. Makenzie Evans came through with a pinch hit rbi single for the Golden Eagles first run and then Saige Nielsen hit an rbi single to put CSI up 4-2.
Hayes walked the first hitter but got three outs in a row, including a big strikeout with one out and runners at second and third to preserve the win.
In game one, the Golden Eagles gave up four runs to start the game and never recovered.
Tessa Hokanson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and Hale went 2-for-3. Brylee Bigelow knocked in the Golden Eagles other run on a single. Evans pitched a solid final three innings, giving up no runs on one hit.
CSI takes on Blinn College and McLennan Saturday before coming home.
