YUMA, Ariz. - The ninth-seeded College of Southern Idaho Softball Team couldn't get past a relentless eighth-seeded Chattanooga State team Tuesday, losing 5-0 in the opening round of the NJCAA National Tournament.
The Golden Eagles battled into the fifth, trailing just 1-0. Chat State added one run in the bottom of the fifth. and then added three more in the sixth.
CSI had hits from

Kylie Baumert and
Gracie Tentinger.
Brooke Merrill earned the loss in the circle and threw a solid five innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Jessica Touchard pitched .2 innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit with a walk and hit by pitch and
August Cowan pitched the final out of the game, getting a bases loaded line out to end the inning.
CSI will play Georgia Military Wednesday at 11 a.m. MDT in a loser-out game. The Bulldogs fell to top-ranked Florida Southwestern 8-0.
