TWIN FALLS, Idaho – College of Southern Idaho Volleyball player
Airi Miyabe will be going from one powerhouse to another.
Miyabe signed her letter of intent on Wednesday to play at the University of Minnesota. The sophomore played a major role in bringing home CSI Volleyball's 12th National Championship in November.
Miyabe, the inaugural NJCAA Player of the Year and the AVCA Player of the Year, averaged 4.28 kills per set for the Golden Eagles. The outside hitter also averaged 2.86 digs and led the team with 29 service aces. She was the Region 18 Player of the Year and earned recognition, making the Region 18 All-Tournament Team and being awarded the National Tournament MVP.
Miyabe helped CSI to a 31-4 overall record as a freshman and a 31-2 record as a sophomore. She helped CSI win Scenic West Athletic Conference and Region 18 Championships both years, as well as a helping them to a runner-up finish at the NJCAA National Tournament as a freshman.
