OGDEN, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Rodeo Team remained in first place in the Rocky Mountain Region Standings with a second-place finish at the Weber State University Rodeo Friday and Saturday. The CSI Men's Team is in third after finishing fourth at Weber State.
For the women,
Celie Davis won the Barrel Racing with
Ellie Thurgood placing sixth and
Rhyan Brough finishing seventh.
Hailey Gibbs took second in Goat Tying and
Hayden Corta placed sixth in Breakaway Roping to round out the Golden Eagles who placed in the top eight in an event.
CSI men won two events.
Dahl Winters took first in Bareback Riding and
Chase Andrade was first in Steer Wrestling. The final men's athlete that placed was
Oran Davis in Tie Down Roping.
The lead for the Golden Eagle Women is a little over 300 points, while the men are just 300 points out of second. Southern Utah University stands in first with Snow College in second in the men's race. Utah Valley University stands in second in the women's race.
CSI next competes in the Colorado Mesa University Rodeo Friday and Saturday in Grand Junction, Colo.
