TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho Volleyball players
Hazuna Akishige and
Ava Pond were both recognized this past week for their play in the Crystal "Inn"vitational in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Akishige was named Libero of the Tournament as well as Scenic West Athletic Conference Libero of the Week, while Pond was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and SWAC Player of the Week.

Mina Benucci was also recognized for her play on the all-tournament team.
CSI beat top-ranked Florida Southwestern to open the tournament, giving the Bucaneers their first non-conference loss in 1455 days.
Akishige averaged 3.93 digs per set and 1.07 assists per set for the Golden Eagles in the tournament. Pond hit an impressive .373 on the right side and averaged 2.93 kills per set. She also averaged .50 blocks per set.
Benucci continued her domination at the net, averaging 1.0 blocks per set, while hitting .323 and averaging 2.29 kills per set. She also had seven service aces.
The Golden Eagles return home this week to host the Starr Corporation Invitational Friday and Saturday.Â
