RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho posted 26 hits and allowed seven to beat Colorado Northwestern 8-2 and 10-0 Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
CSI struggled to put hits together in game one but grinded out the win.
Saige Nielsen was 3-for-4 with a double and RBI,
Rachael Brown was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI,
Olivia Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI,
Maizie Clark was 2-for-3 with an RBI and
Kylie Baumert was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.Â
In the circle,
Brooke Merrill earned the win, giving up two earned runs with seven hits with 10 strikeouts.
Golden Eagle
Gracie Walters led the way in game two. The sophomore threw her second no hitter in two weeks, going five innings with 10 strikeouts.
At the plate, Taylor was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, Brown was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Perla Duran hit a home run as well.
Gracie Tentinger finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and
Sophia Stoddard was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Caitlin Turner was 2-for-3, Clark was 1-for-2 and Baumert was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
CSI, now 27-6 overall and 17-1 in conference play, take on CNCC Saturday for another doubleheader.
