POCATELLO, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's and Women's Distance Track Teams added nine new qualifiers Friday at the Stacy Dragila Invitational for the NJCAA Indoor Track National Meet.
In addition to those nine qualifiers, CSI runners ran eight PRs and three broke into the CSI all-time top 10 performances.
Three runners qualified in the mile. On the men's side,
Kaleb Burnett (4:19.02) and
Raivio Manzer (4:19.49) became the first two men to qualify this year, while
Edith Neslen (5:16.73) added the mile to the events she has qualified for.Â
In the 800 meters,
Mia Beightol (2:19.29),
Isabella Beilke (2:19.91) and
Alyssa Bradshaw (2:21.55) all posted qualifying marks.
The final group of three qualifying included
Laurie Davidson (10:31.11),
Sage Lyon (10:46.02) and
Karli Harward (10:48.61) in the 3,000 meters.Â
The three individuals who cracked the all-time top 10 list were Manzer in the mile at the #8 spot,
Audrey Lemon in the 800 meters (2:18.99) at #4 and Beightol in the 800 meters at #5.
Teams from Idaho State University, MSU-Billings and Treasure Valley CC competed in this meet and the Golden Eagles came away with some top finishes. Burnett won the mille with Manzer in second. Neslen, Griffith and Lundell took second, third and fourth in the mile as well.
In the 800 meters,
Isaac Vernon won with
Noah Jones in second and the women placed four in the top five - Lemon (2nd), Beightol (3rd), Beilke (4th) and Bradshaw (5th).
Manzer took first in the 3000 meters and the women had a clean sweep of the top five in the same event. Davidson took first with Neslen second, Lyon third, Harward fourth and
Indianna Lundell in fifth.
The Golden Eagles next compete in the Mountain States Games in Pocatello Feb. 13-14.
