TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Program is proud to welcome
Kyah Farris-White, a 6-10 forward/center from Perth, Australia.
Farris-White brings a rare athletic background and global experience to CSI. Growing up in Australia, he excelled in both basketball and Aussie Rules Football. As a standout high school basketball player, he earned an opportunity to compete at the prestigious Orangeville Prep Academy in Canada. Most recently, he played with the developmental team for Cockburn Cougars in Australia's NBL 1 League.
After graduating from high school, Farris-White faced a personal challenge when his father was diagnosed with cancer. He made the difficult decision to remain close to home, putting college on hold while supporting his family. During that time, he pursued a professional opportunity in the Australian Football League (AFL), signing with the Melbourne Demons and competing for two seasons in the AFL's development league (VFL).
Now, after two years in Aussie Rules Football, Farris-White has returned to his first passion - basketball.
"Kyah has taken an unconventional path to CSI," said CSI Head Coach Jeff Reinert. "Now back on the hardwood after a two-year hiatus, Kyah brings an incredible motor to the court. He sprints end-to-end, relentlessly crashes both the offensive and defensive glass, and plays with infectious energy. His hustle, heart and enthusiasm are sure to make him a fan favorite at CSI. We are excited to help him on his journey to earning a college degree and living out his dream of playing college basketball."
Farris-White's return to the court adds not only size to the Golden Eagles' frontcourt, but also maturity, grit and an inspiring story of resilience.
