Box Score 2 COOLIDGE, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho took a game off seventh-ranked Central Arizona Sunday 3-1 before falling to the Vaqueros 9-0 in the second game of the doubleheader.
Pitchers
Shay Benson and
Brennen Chappell combined for a pitching gem in the win. Benson started the game, going 3.2 innings and giving up one run on one hit with two strikeouts. Chappell came in with the score tied and earned the win, going 3.1 innings and giving up no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
Eliot Jones was 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and an RBI.
Brody Duvall was 1-for-4 with a triple and the Golden Eagles other two hits came from
Jack Barker and
Tyler Vance.
Game two was all Central Arizona as the Golden Eagles couldn't find an answer for the Vaqueros pitcher. No CSI player got a hit. On the mound,
Brock Snow earned the lost, going four innings and giving up four runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
Cooper Littledike pitched the final 1.1 innings, giving up no runs on no hits with one strikeout.
CSI, now 6-6 overall, hosts Treasure Valley Friday and Saturday for doubleheaders.
