CSI MBB to play for NJCAA National Championship

Box Score HUTCHINSON, Kansas - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team overcame a 16-point deficit in the first half to beat Vincennes 80-74 Friday and advance to the NJCAA National Championship.
The Golden Eagles knocked down just 3-of-9 3 pointers in the first half. But a 6-of-10 performance in the second half coupled with a stifling defense and some key free throws helped CSI forge a huge comeback.
Up two with 16 seconds to play, CSI rebounded a missed Vincennes shot and Trailblazers promptly fouled Danya Kingsby. Meanwhile Vincennes coach was called for a technical foul. Kingsby knocked down all four free throws to give the Golden Eagles the final margin.
For the game, Kingsby was 10-of-11 from the line. He finished with 19 points.
Charles Jones Jr. led the Golden Eagles with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Roberto Gittens added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
CSI will play South Plains at 6 p.m. MST for the national championship. A win would give the Golden Eagles their fourth title in the history of the program.
