CSI Men's Basketball adds to coaching staff for 26-27 season

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Matt Moorhouse to their coaching staff. Moorhouse enters his first season as an assistant coach with the College of Southern Idaho men's basketball program, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience and a championship pedigree to the Golden Eagles.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Moorhouse to CSI," said CSI Head Coach Jeff Reinert. "He is a proven winner who brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, a championship pedigree, and a tremendous ability to connect with players."

Moorhouse comes to CSI after serving as an assistant coach at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California, where he helped the Saints capture the 2026 CIF Division I Championship and Crestview League Championship while advancing to the California State Regional Semifinals during a 28–8 season.

Prior to Crean Lutheran, Moorhouse spent eight seasons as the head boys' basketball coach at Santiago High School in Garden Grove, California. During his tenure, he compiled a combined 179-99 varsity head coaching record, won seven league championships, and guided the boys' program to its first CIF championship in school history in 2025. During the 2022–23 season, Moorhouse served as the head coach of both the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams simultaneously, leading both programs to league championships. Moorhouse never had a losing season during his entire tenure at Santiago.

Before becoming a head coach at Santiago, Moorhouse spent 10 seasons on the coaching staff at Tustin High School, where he was part of the program's 2013 CIF championship team. Throughout his career, he has helped develop numerous players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Moorhouse has worked with the Los Angeles Blue Waves professional basketball organization and has experience in scouting, film breakdown, player development, recruiting, practice preparation, and basketball operations.

A Southern California native, Moorhouse brings extensive relationships throughout the California high school, AAU, and junior college basketball communities to CSI.

Moorhouse earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills and his teaching credentials from the University of Redlands.

"Matt's success as both a head coach and an assistant speaks for itself, but what impressed us most was his character, basketball knowledge, and commitment to helping players succeed," said Reinert. "Matt is a great fit for our program and will make an immediate impact on Golden Eagle basketball."
