Second half surge leads to rout of Central Wyoming

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 4th-ranked CSI Men's Basketball team used a 61 point second half to pull away for a 105-56 win over Central Wyoming on day two of the ICCU Invitational Saturday night at the CSI Gymnasium.
After a solid first half, that saw the Golden Eagles shoot 50% from the field and open up a 19 point lead, they exploded for 61 second half points, shooting 64% from the field to pull away from the Rustlers.
For the second night in a row, Cutter Beus was the spark the Golden Eagle offense needed as he scored 23 of his game high 29 points in the second half, including five of seven from the three point line. CSI played clean on offense for the majority of the night, only committing six turnovers, while forcing nine Rustler turnovers that they converted into 20 points. The Golden Eagles had a balanced attack as well, as four players finished in double figures. Carter Davis and Diego Mulford accounted for 24 bench points as they scored 13 points and 11 points respectively. Carlo Mulford and Kyah Farris-White were the other two Golden Eagles in double figures, as Mulford finished with 11 points and a team high six assists, while Farris-White pitched in 10 points and team high eight rebounds. Kobe Kesler dished out a team high six assists, while Berrett Wilson and Luka Solomun each pitched in four assists off the bench.
The win caps a 2-0 start to the season as the Golden Eagles now have a little time to regroup, as they will next take the floor on Thursday, November 12th for the first round of the annual Battle for the Boot tournament here in Twin Falls. They will open up the tournament at 12:00 p.m. in two weeks time, taking on Western Nebraska Community College.
