RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team beat Colorado Northwestern 6-4, 5-2 and 8-6 this weekend, losing just once 5-2 on Friday.
With the wins, the Golden Eagles stand in third place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference race behind Southern Nevada and Salt Lake CC.
CSI hitters did a solid job all weekend, hitting .333 as a team. Leading the way from 
Joey Rossi. He finished the series, going 8-for-12 with a double and four RBI. 
Bodie Cooper also did well. The sophomore catcher was 7-for-13 with four doubles and four walks.
On the mound, 
Zack Draper, 
Mason Hilty and 
Tyler Burdett all earned wins. Draper went 7.1 innings, giving up nine hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts. Hilty went 7.0 innings, giving up seven hits, two earned runs with three strikeouts and Burdett went 7.0 innings, giving up four hits and one earned run with three strikeouts.
In the final game of the weekend, CSI entered the ninth inning tied with CNCC. Rossi led off the inning with a walk. After a flyout to left field by 
Cole Walters, Cooper laced a doubled to put CSI runners on second and third. 
Harrison Ramey got a huge two-RBI single to give the Golden Eagles the cushion they would need as Burdett shut down the Spartans in order in the bottom of the ninth for the win.
The Golden Eagles host USU Eastern Friday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader and Saturday at noon for a doubleheader.
