SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team came away from its road trip at Salt Lake CC with a split, losing the first day 6-4, before winning two on Friday 5-1 and 5-4 and falling to the Bruins 7-1 Saturday.
The two teams entered the weekend tied for third in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings and remained their after the split.
In game one,
Nate Gardner finished 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI, while
Jake Boyd went 2-for-4.
On Friday,
Zack Draper pitched a gem, going 6.1 innings for the win, giving up just five hits with five strikeouts. At the plate,
Cody Jenkins led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. In game two Friday,
Mason Hilty earned the win, giving up one earned run and eight hits with five strikeouts.
Tyler Burdett came in for the save. Offensively,
Cole Walters was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
In the Golden Eagles loss Saturday,
Nate Gardner went 1-for-2 with one RBI,
Jake Boyd was 1-for-3 and
Cole Walters was 1-for-3.
CSI returns home to host Western Nevada Thursday at 4 p.m., Friday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader and Saturday at Noon.
