Gerald Meyerhoeffer started working for the College of Southern Idaho in 1966 and became the second president of CSI in 1983. He retired in 2005 but still remains active in Golden Eagle Athletics. His different capacities at the college have included vocational counselor, director of admissions and records, assistant to the president and vice president.
Meyerhoeffer is a native of Moscow, Idaho. He received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Idaho and master's degree in education from Washington State University. He received an honorary doctorate in administrative science from the University of Idaho in Moscow in 1998.
In 1996, the Student Senate at CSI requested through a resolution to the CSI Board of Trustees, that the new Library/Academic Development Building be named in his honor. The Gerald R. Meyerhoeffer Building was dedicated Sept. 16, 1996.
Meyerhoeffer is married to Pauline.
