TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team lost to Salt Lake CC 14-2 Thursday in the opening game of the Region 18 Championship series.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning but saw it disappear for good in the top of the second when the Bruins scored two runs.
Four Golden Eagles finished the game with hits.
Ryder Cutlip was 2-for-3 with two double, while
Cade Burnham,
Trey Purser and
Crew Secrist were all 1-for-3. Purser had a double and RBI and Secrist had a RBI.
On the mound
Grayson Riding took the loss, pitching the first 3.1 innings and giving up six runs on seven hits.
Braxton Yates pitched the final .2 innings, giving up no runs on one hit with one strikeout.
CSI, 43-13 overall, will take on Salt Lake again Friday at 4 p.m. in a win or out game. If the Golden Eagle win on Friday it would force a winner-take-all game Saturday at noon.Â
