TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho fell to Salt Lake CC 12-4 in the Region 18 Championship Friday.
The Golden Eagles gave up 10 runs in the first inning and couldn't recover.
Still CSI finished with seven hits, including a home run by
Mack Evans.
Tayson Howard finished 3-for-4 and
Crew Secrist was 1-for-2.
Cade Burnham and
Trey Purser got the other hits.
Kyson Giles took the loss, pitching .2 innings and giving up eight runs on five hits with one strikeout.
Jackson Gardner pitched 4.2 solid innings, giving up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and
Kaleb Doty pitched 1.1 innings, giving up no runs on no hits with two strikeouts.
Three Golden Eagles were selected to the Region 18 All-Tournament Team - Secrist,
Ryder Cutlip and Purser.
Salt Lake's Kade Gambill earned tournament MVP honors. Other Bruins named to the all-tournament team included AJ Thomas, Lute Chavez, Drew Smith, Willy Roberts, Kaden Hodson and Easton Davis.
The Golden Eagles finish the season with a 43-14 overall record and a 17-7 regular season conference record.Â
