TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team was represented on the NJCAA First Team All American list by
Savannah Stoker and the NJCAA Third Team All American list by
Ashley Garner.
The two sophomores helped lead the Golden Eagles to the Elite Eight as well as a Scenic West Athletic Conference Title and a Region 18 Championship.
Stoker, the Region 18 Player of the Year, averaged 16.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.7 assists per game. The CSI forward shot 53 percent from the field. She was named Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week three times and was the Region 18 Tournament MVP.
Garner's contributions to the Golden Eagles were just as impressive. The sophomore post averaged 11 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. She set the CSI all-time record for most offensive rebounds in a season with 152.
She was named SWAC Player of the Week twice and NJCAA National Player of the Week once. She was a Region 18 First Team selection and a Region 18 All-Tournament Team selection. Averaging a double-double at the national tournament, Garner also was named to the NJCAA Nationals All-Tournament Team.
Stoker and Garner led the Golden Eagles to a 29-5 overall record this past season and a two-year career record of 52-13.
