TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho stranded 10 base runners Thursday against Salt Lake CC, falling to the Bruins 10-1 to open the Scenic West Athletic Conference series opener.
The Golden Eagles couldn't get the timely hit, while Salt Lake took advantage of some solid Bruin short game and CSI errors to pull away.
Tayson Howard had the lone CSI RBI, going 2-for-4 with a double.
Crew Secrist was also 2-for-4.
Ryder Cutlip,
Trey Purser,
Mack Evans and
Stockton Fowlks were all 1-for-3 on the day.
Grayson Riding took the loss, pitching seven innings and giving up five earned runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.
Caymen Kap pitched.1 innings, giving up 1 unearned run on no hits and
Caden Fenger pitched .2 innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts.
CSI, 31-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play, looks to rebound Friday in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
