TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team bounced back after a 13-3 loss to take a 4-2 win on Friday over Salt Lake CC to move one game ahead of the Bruins in the Scenic West Athletic Conference race.
The Golden Eagles struggled on offense and defense in game one, giving up six unearned runs on four errors, while only posting six hits on offense.
Crew Secrist was the lone CSI player with more than one hit, going 2-for-3 with a double.
Trey Purser was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI.
Kyson Giles took the loss, going four innings and giving up three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Kaleb Doty pitched one inning, giving up no earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.
Game two was a 360 for the Golden Eagles. CSI pounded out eight hits and committed no errors and the CSI pitchers were solid all game.
Tayson Howard was 2-for-4, Purser was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and Secrist was 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Degan Rigby earned the win, pitching 4.1 innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Will Grizzle got the save, pitching the final 2.2 innings and giving up no runs on two hits with one strikeout.
CSI, 32-8 overall and 8-3 in conference play, faces Salt Lake for the final game in the series Saturday at 11 a.m.
