SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho and 13th-ranked Salt Lake CC continued their battle, splitting on Saturday. The Golden Eagles fall 3-2 in the opener before beating the Bruins 10-7 in game two.
In the opener,
Sophia Bristow pitched a gem, giving up just six hits with three strikeouts in the loss.
Adi Hansen and
Camryn Guest were each 2-for-4 for the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles bats came alive in game two, pounding out 15 hits.
Hansen was 3-for-4 and Guest was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Rilyne Keck finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI, while Archuleta was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Ava Howell was 1-for-2 with a home run and
Shyann Banasky and
Lily Heitz both had pinch hit hits to give CSI the lead in the seventh inning.
Ella Farrell earned the win, pitching the final three innings, giving up just one earned run on three hits with two strikeouts.
Emerson Fuller pitched the first four innings, giving up five earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
CSI remains one game back in the conference standings. The Golden Eagles host Snow College next weekend.
