TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho outlasted North Idaho College 74-70 Friday to advance to the Region 18 Championship.
The Golden Eagles led 73-67 with 25 seconds to play but CSI missed two free throws and the Cardinals made three to pull within three points with eight seconds to play. Jalen Lyn knocked down one of two to give the Golden Eagles the final tally.
Lyn led CSI in scoring with 23 points. He also had six rebounds and four assists. Nathan Ahner added 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Ace Reiser had 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Ben Thornbrue had eight points, five rebounds and two blocks and Cooper Kesler had seven points and five rebounds.
CSI, 29-2 overall, takes on Snow College in thre Region 18 Championship at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Badgers defeated USU Eastern 97-84 Friday in the other semifinal matchup.
