TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team came from behind to win game one 7-6 before run ruling USU Eastern 11-1 in game two for the Scenic West Athletic Conference Friday sweep.
The Golden Eagles trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the second inning but gradually climbed back into the game. Heading into the bottom of the six, CSI was behind 6-4.
Crew Secrist led off with a single before
Noah Gatti and
Mack Evans walked. A wild pitch scored the first CSI run. After a strike out,
Cooper Scott came to the plate to tie the game on a sacrifice fly. The Golden Eagles then scored the go-ahead run on a
Cade Burnham single.
Will Grizzle pitched the final inning to shut down the Eagles of Price and secure the win.
Grizzle earned the save, while
Caden Fenger got the win. The sophomore pitched 1.2 innings, giving up no runs on one hit with one strikeout.
Game two was all CSI. The Golden Eagles scored 8 runs before USUE got on the board with its only run in the top of the fifth. CSI added three more in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
Burnham was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
Ryder Cutlip was 2-for-3 with one RBI8 and
Tyson Staheli and
Trey Purser were each 1-for-2.
Degan Rigby pitched all five innings, giving up no earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts.
CSI, 27-5 overall and 3-0 in conference play, hosts USU Eastern for one more Saturday at 11 a.m.
