TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Men's and Women's Rodeo Teams kicked off the spring season, hosting the 49th CSI Intercollegiate Rodeo Friday and Saturday with the women's team claiming the top spot and the men finishing third.
Hayden Corta won the women's all-around and
Celie Davis took second. Corta won the Goat Tying and took second in Breakaway Roping. Davis was seventh in Breakaway, third in Barrel Racing and tied for seventh in Team Roping.
Ellie Thurgood won Breakaway Roping and
Ella Begger placed third in Goat Tying to round out the women who placed.
Overall the women dominated the rodeo, finishing with 495 points to second place Colorado Mesa's 195.
The Men's Team swept the Bull Riding with
Mason Reine winning it and
Ashton Zabriskie taking second.Â
Oran Davis took fourth in Tie Down Roping and
Chase Andrade took third in Steer Wrestling.Â
With the points the Golden Eagle Women scored, the women's team moves into first in the overall team standings. The men's team stands in fourth overall.
CSI next competes in the Snow College Rodeo Friday and Saturay in Salina, Utah.
