TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho finished the non-conference part of its season 23-5 with two wins - 2-1 an 13-3 - over Treasure Valley CC Saturday.
The Golden Eagles went into the bottom of the fifth inning tied at one apiece in game one. With one out Ryder Cutlip singled and advanced to second on a Trey Purser hit by pitch. Crew Secrist then singled to center to bring in the eventual winning run for CSI.
Secrist finished the game 2-for-3. Cutlip, Beau Blackwell an Mack Evans each added a hit.
Degan Rigby earned the win, pitching five innings and giving up one earned run non three hits with three strikeouts. Will Grizzle got the save, pitching the final two innings and giving up no runs on no hits with two strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI.
Both Cutlip and Purser hit home runs and were 2-for-2 in the five-inning run rule. Secrist and Evans were each 2-for-4 and Cade Burnham was 2-for-4 with five RBI.
Braxton Yates got the win, pitching all five innings and giving up no earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts.
CSI, 24-5 overall, opens Scenic West Athletic Conference play Thursday at home against USU Eastern.
