TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball Team dominated from start to finish to beat Salt Lake CC 65-46 Friday in the Region 18 Championship game.
The Golden Eagles led 38-21 at the half and cruised from there.
CSI forced the Bruins into 24 turnovers and held them to 35 percent from the field and 29 percent from the 3-point line. The Golden Eagles also out-rebounded Salt lake 39-28.
Coming up big from long range for CSI was
Chloe Jensen. The sophomore was 5-for-6, scoring all of her 15 points from deep.
Savannah Stoker led the Golden Eagles with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. And
Ashley Garner finished with seven points, eight rebounds and four steals. Guards
Samara Morrow and
Ziah Greybull were solid as well. Morrow finished with five points, seven rebounds and three assists and Greybull had four rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Stoker was selected as the tournament MVP for her play over both days. Jensen, Garner and Morrow were named to the all-tournament team. Other selections included Salt Lake's Ines Babaya and Tahys Da Silva.
CSI has punched its ticket to the national tournament with the win and will await its seeding on Monday during the selection show.
The Golden Eagles are 28-4 overall.Â
