TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team beat Prairie Baseball Academy 6-2 and 12-2 Sunday to finish the weekend 5-0 against the Prairie Dawgs.
The Golden Eagles pieced together runs in game one for the win but in game two used a huge fifth inning to run rule Prairie.
No CSI hitter had more than one run in the opener and
Mack Evans had the only extra-base hit with a double.
Stetson Critchley and
Crew Secrist each had an RBI single and
Tyson Staheli was 1-for-1 on a pinch hit single.
Braxton Yates got the win on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings and giving up just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts.
Jackson Gardner got the save, pitching the final two innings, giving up no runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
Game two was all Prairie as the they held CSI in check with just one hit and one run into the bottom of the fifth inning. But the Golden Eagles exploded for 11 runs to end the game.
Staheli had a two-run home run in that inning and
Trey Purser hit a shot over the scoreboard for a three-run home run in the inning.
Cooper Scott,
Kolton Hicks,
Beau Blackwell, Secrist and
Noah Gatti all had doubles in the game. Gatti was 2-for-4 with a three RBI for the game and Hicks was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
CSI, 18-5 overall, hosts Utah State Club Team Wednesday for a doubleheader.
