TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team outlasted a pesky USU Eastern Team 71-64 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup.
Every time the Golden Eagles extended the lead to double digits, USUE climbed back into the game on the strength of its free throw shooting and rebounding.
The Eagles of Price were a perfect 17-of-17 from the free-throw line and out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 35-27 on the night.
Cooper Kesler led CSI with 20 points along with three assists. Ace Resier added 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals. The only other CSI player in double-figure scoring was
Ben Thornbrue with 11. He also had a team-high five rebounds.
The Golden Eagles, 27-2 overall and 13-1 in conference action, play top-ranked Snow College Saturday to decide the SWAC regular season champion as well as hosting rights for the Region 18 Tournament.
