RANGELY, Colo. - The sixth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team trailed most of its game with Colorado Northwestern but the Golden Eagles led when it matter most, beating the Spartans 78-76 Thursday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
With 1:06 left in the game,
Ace Reiser drained a 3-pointer to put CSI in the lead for the first time all half at 75-73. Ten seconds later CNCC tied the game on two free throws and later took the a one-point lead on another free throw.
Reiser again came up clutch making two free throws with 16 seconds left to play to give CSI the 77-76 lead.
Jalen Lyn added one more free throw with six seconds left on the clock for the final tally.
Cooper Kesler kept the Golden Eagles in the game all night, finishing with 26 points and four rebounds.
Nathan Ahner added 18 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
Reiser continued to be a leader for CSI, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals.
CSI, 24-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play, travels to Salt Lake Saturday.
