FORT MYERS, Fla. - The 25th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team loses to second-ranked Florida Southwestern 8-0 and 9-3 Thursday in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles didn't have an offensive answer for the FSW's starting pitcher in game one, finishing with just two hits.
Adi Hansen and
Kyli Carrell were each 1-for-2 at the plate.
Emerson Fuller took the loss in the circle, pitching 2.1 innings and giving up five earned runs on five hits.
Ella Farrell pitched the final 1.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.
Errors plagued the Golden Eagles in game two. In the first three innings, CSI gave up three unearned runs on three errors and another one later on a passed ball.
Alyce Archuleta was 2-for-4 and
Rilyne Keck was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Hansen, Carrell and
Anslie Yazzie were all 1-for-3, while
Shyann Banasky finished 1-for-2 with a walk.Â
Marissa Mauger earned the loss, going 5.1 innings and giving up five earned runs.
Sophia Bristow pitched the final .2 innings, giving up no runs on no hits.
CSI takes on #3 St. Johns River, #8 Indian River State College and Miami Dade on Friday.
