Box Score SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho benefited from a couple long balls and solid pitching to beat Scottsdale CC 10-6 Thursday.
The Golden Eagles trailed 3-2 going into the fifth inning when
Trey Purser hit a 3-run home run to put CSI up 5-4. The Fighting Artichokes tied it up in the bottom of the fifth before both teams scored one run in the sixth.Â
Mack Evans hit the second CSI home run of the game in the seventh to put the Golden Eagles up to stay.Â
Purser finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBI.
Stockton Fowlks was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
Grayson Riding got the no decision, pitching the first five innings and giving up just one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.
Caden Fenger got the win, pitching the final four innings and giving up one earned run on six hits.
CSI, 2-5 overall, play Scottsdale again Friday for a doubleheader at noon.
