Box Score TUCSON, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho took the 3-2 lead into the sixth inning but couldn't hold off an offensive minded Pima squad, ultimately falling 6-3 on Sunday.
In his first start of the season
Cooper Thompson hit two home runs in his first two at bats to tie the game in the fourth inning on his second home run.
Cade Burnham also had a solid game, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and double. Sophomore
Tayson Howard finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and walk and
Mack Evans was 2-for-5 with a triple.
Ryan Cutlip entered the game late as a DH and went 1-for-2.
On the mound
Braxton Yates started the game and held a 3-2 lead went he exited at 4.1 innings pitched. He gave up two earned run on five hits with three strikeouts.
Logan Mabey pitched the final two outs of that inning, giving up no runs, no hits with one strikeout.
Cael Kidman earned the loss, pitching 1 inning and giving up two runs on one hit with two walks.
CSI, 0-4, takes on Paradise Valley Tuesday for a nine-inning game at 2 p.m. and Wednesday for a nine-inning game at 2 p.m.
