COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team took advantage of the long ball, free passes and solid pitching to defeat North Idaho 6-1 and 6-3 Sunday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
In game one,
Emerson Fuller pitched all seven innings for the win, giving up just one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts.
At the plate,
Lily Heitz was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI,
Lexi Crowley was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI and
Alyce Archuleta hit a home run. Both
Courtney Christiansen and
Rilyne Keck were 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Golden Eagles drew 12 walks in the second game and combined that with three more home runs to take the win. Keck was 1-for-2 with a home run,
Ava Howell was 1-for-2 with a home run and Heitz hit the third home run.
Kyli Carrell was 1-for-3 at the plate.
Eva Stoddard earned the win in the circle, pitching the final five innings, giving up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts. Marissa Maguer pitched the opening two innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.
CSI, 24-13 overall and 17-3 in conference play, hosts #16 Salt Lake (24-5, 11-5) Friday and Saturday.
