TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team lost to 18th-ranked Salt Lake CC Saturday 11-4 and 12-6 to finish the regular Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule.
The Golden Eagles stayed close in game one through four innings, trailing 6-3 going into the fifth. But the Bruins tacked on five more runs to put the game out of reach.
Barker finished the game 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and
Jack Ryan was 1-for-1. Both
Cole DeCastro and
Tayson Howard were 1-for-3.
Mason Hartle took the loss, pitching the first three innings and giving up four earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts.
It was all CSI early in game two as the Golden Eagles took a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Salt Lake answered with a 10-0 run to take the win.
Three CSI players hit home runs.
Mack Evans was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and
Jack Ryan and
Braxton Biesinger each had a solo shot. Howard was 2-for-4.Â
Bryce Intagliata started the game, pitching the first five innings, giving up five earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.
Coleman Bobb pitched two innings, giving up no earned runs on one hit.
CSI, 30-26 overall and 8-16 in conference play, will play USU Eastern Thursday-Friday in Price, Utah. It will be a best 2-out-of-3 series with the winner advancing to the Region 18 Championship.Â
