CSI Softball earns hosting rights and a SWAC title with two wins Saturday

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The 24th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team swept Snow College 12-1 and 14-6 in run rule wins Saturday to sew up the Region 18 Tournament hosting rights and at least a share of the Scenic West Athletic Conference title.
On the day, the Golden Eagles pounded out 25 hits, including eight home runs.
In game one, Lily Heitz was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI, Kylie Carrell was 2-for-2, Anslie Yazzie was 2-for-3 and Lexi Crowley was 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI. Courtney Christiansen (2-for-4) and Rilyne Keck (1-for-1) each hit home runs. Adi Hansen was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
In the circle Emerson Fuller gave up one earned run on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Game two was all CSI early as the Golden Eagles took the 12-3 into the fifth. But Snow added three in the fifth to extend the game before CSI got the sixth-inning run rule on two solo home runs.
Hansen was 2-for-2 with a stolen base, Lily Heitz was 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI, Crowley was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI and Ava Howell was 2-for-4 with two home runs.
Carrell stayed hot, going 3-for-4 and Yazzie was 1-for-2.
Marissa Mauger got the win, pitching the first three innings and giving up three earned runs with six hits with one strikeout and Eva Stoddard earned the save, pitching the final three innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits with one strikeout.
CSI, 31-14 overall and 24-4 in conference play, host Treasure Valley Tuesday at 2 p.m.
