SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho took both games Sunday over sixth-ranked Salt Lake CC 10-5 and 6-5 to remain in first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings.
The Golden Eagles got a win for the second day in a row in the circle from
Eva Stoddard. The sophomore pitched all seven innings of game two, giving up just three earned runs with three strikeouts.
CSI also had solid pitching performances in game one from
Marissa Mauger and
Ella Farrell. Mauger earned the win, pitching the first four innings, giving up five runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. Farrell secured the save, pitching the final three innings and giving up no runs on one hit.
In the opening game,
Adi Hansen was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two stolen bases.
Abbie Banning,
Lexi Crowley and
Ava Howell were all 1-for-3 and Alyce Aruchuleta had two RBI.
Hansen stayed hot in game two, going 2-for-4.
Courtney Christiansen was 1-for-1 with a double, three walks and two RBI. Banning and
Brielle Milius were each 1-for-3 with a home run and Crowley was 2-for-4.
CSI, 7-1 in conference play, travels to Snow Friday and Saturday.
