PRICE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team beat USU Eastern 13-0 and 10-7 Saturday to finish the weekend 4-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Behind a pitching gem from
Emerson Fuller, the Golden Eagles rolled in game one. The freshman gave up no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
At the plate,
Alyce Archuleta was 3-for-3 with two RBI,
Abbie Banning was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI,
Courtney Christiansen was 2-for-4 with two doubles and
Mariah Schauwecker was 3-for-3.
Adi Hansen finished 2-for-3 and
Kelsie Jensen was 1-for-2 with three RBI.
CSI jumped out to a 6-1 lead in game two but had to hold of a USUE rally late.Â
Kylie Carrell was 1-for-1 with an RBI, Jensen was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Archuleta hit a grand slam.Â
In the circle,
Marissa Mauger got the win, pitching six innings and giving up four earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts.
Eva Stoddard earned the save, pitching one inning and giving up one earned run with two strikeouts.
CSI, 21-12 overall and 14-2 in conference play, travels to North Idaho next week.
