TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team beat Colorado Northwestern CC 11-6 before falling 8-6 in game two on Friday to open the Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule.
Crew Secrist was 2-for-3 in game one with a double and two RBI, while Jack Barker also had a two-RBI double. Both Jack Ryan and Brayden Peterson were 1-for-3 with two RBI. 
Shay Benson got the win on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings and giving up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. Degan Rigby pitched the final 1.1 innings, giving up no earned runs on two hits with one strikeout.
CSI took the 4-3 lead going into the eighth inning before CNCC put three runs on the board for the 6-4 lead. CSI answered with two to tie the game up heading into the ninth.
The Spartans plated two in the top of the ninth and CSI couldn't answer.
Tayson Howard was 2-for-2 and Secrist was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Mack Evans finished 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
Braxton Yates pitched the first seven innings, giving up one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts. Hayden Hudman took the loss, pitching the final inning and giving up two runs on two hits.
CSI, 23-11 overall and 1-1 in conference play, hosts Colorado Northwestern again on Saturday at 11 a.m.
