ONTARIO, Ore. - The College of Southern Idaho Softball Team scored three runs in top of the first inning of a doubleheader with Treasure Valley CC Tuesday and never looked back, beating the Chukars 25-0 and 14-3.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 25 hits in game one, while the CSI pitchers gave up just two hits and no runs with seven strikeouts.
Courtney Christiansen was 1-for-1 with a home run and three RBI, while
Lily Heitz was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI.
Abbie Banning finished the game 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBI and
Lexi Crowley was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
Anslie Yazzie was 3-for-4 with four RBI and
Kelsie Jensen was 3-for-4 with three RBI.Â
In the circle,
Eva Stoddard got the win, pitching three innings and giving up no runs on two hits with four strikeouts.
Emerson Fuller pitched the final two innings, giving up no runs on no hits with three strikeouts.
Game two started with CSI scoring five runs in the first inning.
Heitz was 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, Yazzie was 3-for-4,
Kyli Carrell was 2-for-4 and
Adi Hansen was 2-for-3.
Ava Howell also hit a home run in the game.
Ella Farrel earned the win in the circle, pitching three innings and giving up no runs on one hit with six strikeouts.
Marissa Mauger pitched the final two innings, giving up one earned run one hit with five strikeouts.
CSI, 17-12 overall, is off until March 28-29 when the Golden Eagles travel to USU Eastern.
