TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho Baseball Team beat Treasure Valley CC 8-4 Friday before falling to USU Eastern 7-3 in the late game.
The Golden Eagles pounded out 12 hits in game one as
Jack Barker,
Crew Secrist,
Kolton Hicks and
Tayson Howard all finished with two hits apiece. Barker and
Mack Evans each had two RBI and Secrist finished with three RBI.
Caden Fenger earned the win on the mound, going 4.0 innings and giving up four earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts.
Degan Rigby pitched the final two innings, giving up no runs on no hits with five strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles looked poised to take the win against USUE, leading 3-2 going into the seventh inning but the Eagles from Price scored five runs in the seventh and then shut out the Golden Eagles in the bottom half to take the win.
Cole DeCastro led CSI at the plate, going 2-for-3. Barker was 1-for-2 with a double and
Brexten Starley was 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Braxton Yates pitched the first four innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits with one strikeout.
Jack Ryan took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and giving up three runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
CSI, 8-8 overall, plays USU Eastern at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Treasure Valley at 5 p.m.
