TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The Golden Eagles couldn't get the ball to drop to start the game until
Cooper Kesler entered and scored CSI's first 11 points en route to a 95-72 win over Northeastern JC in the Idaho Central Credit Union Invitational.
Kesler finished the game 9-of-11 from the field, 5-of-7 from long range and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line for 26 points. His brother Kobe added 14 points, hitting three 3-pointers and also had five rebounds and three steals.
Other Golden Eagles scoring in double figures included
Jalen Lyn with 15 points and
Ben Thornbrue with 12. Thornbrue also had five rebounds.Â
Ace Reiser was solid again, finishing with nine points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Off the bench
Guygustone Kasenga posted a team-high seven rebounds, while
Nathan Ahner had a team-high seven assists.
CSI out-rebounded the Plainsmen 45 to 29 and out-shot NJC from the 3-point line 50 percent to 29 percent.Â
The Golden Eagles, 8-0 overall, take on South Puget Sound CC Saturday. SPSCC beat Colorado Northwestern 72-62 in the earlier game Friday.
